Managers introducing a new computer system in their organization need to consider all the aspects relating to the project. Institutions Introduce new technology and innovations to enhance service delivery. Healthcare informatics implementation in medical facilities ensures that there is coordination, proper decision making and controlling and management of different projects. Additionally, the new computer systems introduced to counter challenges while enhancing efficiency and effectiveness. Initially, traditional technology is marred with challenges of poor delivery, wastage of resources through duplication of duties as well as delays. The new technologies are modeled to end the challenges and introduce new life in the medical field. In this regard, the manager overseeing the introduction and implementation of new technology needs to have a knowledgeable manager with effective managerial skills. Managers introducing new projects organization need to all aspect in the implementation such as effectiveness, challenges, and teams involved in the implementation, implementation principles and implementation technicalities.
Importance of understanding the interoperability, usability, and configurability
The manager and the entire management team must understand the operations and aspects of the new computer system. Understanding the computer system enables the organization to capitalize on the advantages as well as reducing the operational challenges (Mun et al., 2006). In this regard, the organization needs to understand the usability, configurability, and interoperability of the new system. First, the usability defines the degree or the extent to which the new system will be in a position to fit and address the issues affecting the organization. In determining the usability an organization can determine the objectives and goals, effectiveness, and satisfaction that can be achieved.
The organization needs to understand the configurability of the new computer system. Configurability entails the ability and design of the new computer system to handle challenges and implement policies or obligations within an institution (Mun et al., 2006). On the other hand, the concepts of interoperability, usability, and configurability of the new computer system should outweigh the cost of the new system (Mun et al., 2006). The concept should be able to handle the needs, goals, and objectives of an organization despite the cost of the new system. The quality of the concept needs to be prioritized when adopting the system as compared to the cost so that the value can be realized.

Different computer systems can handle different tasks and at different levels and extent (Sittig and Singh, 2015). In this case, the best computer systems to use are the mainframe computer systems. Mainframe computer systems are powerful and are used for coordination in institutions, corporate and government agencies. The computers are tasked with processing build data, coordinating operations in different departments within an organization and other critical applications.
The reasons for opting for the mainframe computer system is that they are very powerful and they can thus handle a bulk of operations that are experienced in big institutions such a medical facility (Sittig and Singh, 2015). Additionally, mainframe computer systems are in a position to support different programs simultaneously. In medical facilities different programs and operations are run simultaneously as different patients’ activities are processed and such can only be handled by mainframe computers. Equally important, the concepts of usability, interoperability, and configurability are well addressed in a mainframe computer system to the benefit of an organization.
Characteristics of a team that handles the new system
The characteristic of a team that implements the new system computer system determines the success rates. Therefore, the manager of the computer system needs to selectively choose the teams that implement the new computer system (Sittig and Singh, 2015). First, the chosen need to have an excellent analytical skill that enables them to handle arising issues in the course of implementing the new system. Having great analytical skills ensures that the team will come up with ideas and solutions for different issues.

Implementation of a new computer system in an organization is a complicated issue that needs the people that are ready to learn and is dedicated to their profession to increase chances of success and have room for new knowledge that keeps on arising.

Employees` culture determines if they will accept implementing a project or not. Therefore, employee culture is a vital aspect to consider in the course of project implementation.

Employees and professionals are always resistant to changes. In this case, effective strategies and approaches need to be adopted to ensure that positive projects are effectively incorporated into the activities of an organization. Resistance to change can be handled by formally managing the resistance (Schwalbe, 2015). First, the management needs to prepare for the change. A change management strategy needs to be created by generating anticipated points of resistance and special techniques and tactics of countering the resistance. Secondly, the change should be managed by moving employees through their change process to eliminate the barriers of implementation. The organization develops a communication plan, coaching plan, sponsorship plan, and training plan to prepare employees for the change. Lastly, the change needs to be reinforced by collecting the employees and professionals feedback on the new processes and workflows as a result of the change. The feedback needs to be evaluated and acted upon to ensure that the new system is accepted in an organization.
Pitfalls of project implementation
Projects experience challenges in the course of implementation. First, unrealistic deadlines are a pitfall to the implementation of a project (Schwalbe, 2015). This change can be countered by enhancing impeccable planning, proper communication, alternative analysis, and flexibility to set proper deadlines. Additionally, issues within the teams such as disagreements and differences adversely affect the project implementation. This challenge can be created by creating a positive working environment to ensure arising issues are addressed as they arise.
Personal experience with automation and new information systems
Automation and new information systems introduce positive changes in organizations. However, the course of implementing the projects is marred with barriers and challenges. The challenges and barriers are both internal and external and need to be managed to enhance project success. The implementation and success of new projects in an organization need appropriate management skills.
In conclusion, organizations have increasingly adopted a new computer system to enhance service delivery despite challenges experienced in implementation. Organizations adopt new computer systems that address their needs and enhance meeting the goals and objectives of an organization. However, challenges and issues arise in the course of implementing the projects acting as barriers. In this case, the managers and executives of an organization need to have proper management skill for the implementation of a project or introduction of new computer systems.
