CRIMINAL JUSTICE
There is a problem in the criminal justice under prevention of crime. Many black people and Latinos are harassed by police officers just because they belong to a racial group that is associated with high crime rates. According to statistics, 97% of the people that gets harassed like this by the police are actually innocent. That means that only 3% of these harassments produce an evidence of a crime. Research shows that black people are twice as likely to be pulled over by traffic police that white people even though the white people often drive above average. Of all the people that are pulled over, a black person is four times more likely t be searched more than a white. According to a study by the Justice Department back in 2013, of all the people that were pulled over, 7% Latino drivers, 6% black drivers, and 2% white drivers were searched. (Baumgartner. F et al, 2018)
Although the rate of incarceration has been high over the years, there has been inequality in penal confinement. The inequality produces extraordinarily high rates of incarceration among black men than other any other race. The metric used to measure the rate of incarceration is the records the fraction of jail population on an average day. Although there is an 8% increase in the rate of incarceration, there is still an unequal distribution of prisoners according to their race .according to research, 90% of jail population is male with many of them being between 20 and 30 years old. This shows that there is criminal injustice among the male youth in the US. (Western. B, Pettit. B, 2010)

Study Note:
Incarceration & social inequality
Incarceration and social inequality are closely linked issues that have a significant impact on individuals and communities. Incarceration refers to the act of detaining individuals in a prison or other form of detention as punishment for a crime. Social inequality, on the other hand, refers to the unequal distribution of resources, opportunities, and privileges within a society.
One of the key ways in which incarceration and social inequality intersect is through racial disparities in the criminal justice system. Studies have shown that people of color are disproportionately represented in the criminal justice system, particularly among those who are incarcerated. This is particularly true for African American and Hispanic men, who are more likely to be arrested, convicted, and sentenced to longer prison terms than their white counterparts. This is due to a variety of factors, including systemic racism and bias within the criminal justice system.
Another way in which incarceration and social inequality intersect is through the impact of incarceration on individuals and communities. Incarceration can have a devastating effect on individuals, including physical and mental health issues, as well as difficulties finding employment and housing after release. Additionally, incarceration can have a negative impact on families and communities, including economic strain and a loss of social capital.
Incarceration also has a significant impact on social inequality, as individuals who are incarcerated are disproportionately from low-income backgrounds and communities of color. This means that incarceration not only affects individuals, but also perpetuates cycles of poverty and inequality within these communities.
In order to address the issue of incarceration and social inequality, a number of solutions have been proposed. These include reforms to the criminal justice system, such as reducing mandatory minimum sentences, as well as policies aimed at addressing the root causes of crime, such as poverty and inequality. Additionally, a number of programs have been implemented to support individuals who are incarcerated and help them reintegrate into society, such as education and job training programs.
Incarceration and social inequality are closely linked issues that have a significant impact on individuals and communities. Racial disparities in the criminal justice system, as well as the impact of incarceration on individuals and communities, contribute to the perpetuation of cycles of poverty and inequality. Addressing these issues requires a multifaceted approach, including criminal justice reform, policies aimed at addressing the root causes of crime, and programs to support individuals who are incarcerated.
